10 ways we make an impact

10 years – 10 lists. Next up: 10 ways we make an impact. At Be Leadership, we believe impact is created when leaders act with clarity, compassion and courage. It doesn’t happen all at once, but through a steady pattern of choices that inspire others and ripple outward. In this post, we’re sharing ten ways we bring that belief to life—reminders of how purpose-led leadership can leave a lasting mark.
These ten commitments reflect how we bring our values to life and make a difference in the work we do every day:
1

Our Social Partners

Social impact is central to our mission at Be Leadership. In our ten years of operation we are proud to have collaborated deeply with more than 150 inspiring non-profit and purpose-led partners who work across the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to improve lives and create a better world.

1

Financial Commitment

At Be Leadership, we donate 5% of our profits to non-profits and social enterprises that are making a positive impact. We believe these strategic investments not only make the world a better place but are good for business as well. As role models for social leadership, we hope to inspire our clients to think creatively about their own corporate social responsibility practices.

Supporting LUPUS UK

Every May, all of us at Be Leadership participate in a Lupus Activity Challenge to improve people’s understanding around lupus while focusing on our own wellbeing. We run, walk, meditate, cycle and play tennis, while fundraising for LUPUS UK and raising lupus awareness.

Be Leadership Study Abroad Fund

Six years ago, we partnered with the University of Kansas to establish the Be Leadership Study Abroad Fund, which gives talented students who otherwise might not travel internationally an opportunity for a life-altering experience. As an KU alum, our Managing Director, Shannon Banks, is especially proud of this initiative.

Our Clients

Individual leaders are at the heart of what we do. We are passionate about helping people be the best versions of themselves, increasing and expanding their influence in the business and the world. Over the past 10 years, we have worked with thousands of wonderful individuals, helping them build the skills, perspectives and self-awareness they need to be impactful social leaders.

1

Stuff a Stocking Initiative

Each holiday season, we partner with our community and run a program that delivers stockings stuffed with toys, hygiene products, crafts, clothing and small gifts to area children whose families use the local foodbank. Through this initiative, we have provided more than 1,800 stockings filled with love since 2018.

1

Because

In her best-selling book Because, our founder Shannon Banks shares insights around using the social leadership skills to align how you lead with why. A recent reader wrote: “I wanted to share how profoundly your book impacted my life. I was at a point of questioning my purpose and feeling my work lacked value. Your book Because felt like an answered prayer, arriving exactly the right time.”

Social Leadership Self Assessment

Over the past decade, our free assessment has been used by more than 2,500 leaders to enhance their social leadership.

1

Encouraging Wellness

One of our company values is Show then Tell, and we aim to live and work in alignment with what we teach. As a team, we look after each other the best we can, and do things together to encourage wellness including check-ins, qigong classes, meditation and our annual Lupus Challenge. We also bring this into our programs with mindfulness, morning yoga and integrated walk-and-talks.

1

Pro-Bono Coaching

We believe in running a responsible business and are committed to social impact through our work, how we operate and where we spend our time. In addition to our commercial work, we invest time in providing pro-bono consulting and coaching to organizations, teams and individuals who are leaving a positive mark on the world.

Power of ten

We’re turning 10! This year marks our 10th year in business and to celebrate the “Power of 10” and exponential impact, we will be sharing 10 lists of 10 things throughout 2025.
